First, you have to get a good straight-edge razor or pen knife. Two inches is the perfect length, and you want it thin - about 1/4 inch tall at most. A safe handle is a must. This one came from a personal grooming kit.

You'll have to cut the lip of the blue stopper off, to get a better angle for later.

Cut at an oblique angle, and cut thin strips. Remember, you can always go back and shave off more if you didn't cut off enough the first time.
